Welcome to the Virtual Institute IPSUS

In the scope of a virtual institute (VI), Helmholtz centres and universities concentrate research and management capacities, creating centres of excellence of international standing in key areas of research. The main focus of the VI-IPSUS is the understanding of non-equilibrium metallurgical phenomena, such as precipitation, recrystallisation and phase transformation under high heating and high cooling rates in metallic joints using in-situ synchrotron-based diffraction techniques.
